Leggings not only for fitness. How to choose the right ones?

Leggings – a comfortable and versatile piece of women's clothing with a rich history. Did you know that their origins date back to the 13th century? Indeed. Originally serving as leg protection and a layer under clothing, over time, they became an integral part of the fashion scene. Nevertheless, they are perhaps the most debated item in a woman's wardrobe, dividing potential wearers into two camps: those who love them and those who would never wear them, acknowledging only models designed for sports. Women's leggings differ mainly in the material, which changes based on the purpose for which they are made. Because they are comfortable, flexible, and versatile, they can be used for practically anything. A cotton model is excellent for lazy days at home. Some dedicated fans even sleep in them, which is not surprising considering their comfort.
Sport leggings, as the name suggests, will serve you well during physical activities. They have a comfortable and elastic material that allows free movement. They provide good muscle support and compression. The breathable material keeps the skin dry. Seams should be flat on all types of sport leggings to minimize the risk of irritation during friction. Leggings for sports often include additional elements, such as pockets for keys or a phone.
In this category, you'll also find highly popular running leggings. These are characterized by good breathability and quick-drying material, which helps wick away sweat and keep the body dry. Really good running leggings also have reflective elements for better visibility in outdoor terrain.
In winter, thermal leggings, also known as insulated leggings, will keep you warm. The term "thermal" is due to their thermal insulation properties. Thermal leggings are ideal for cold, winter conditions when it's essential to retain heat and protect the legs from chilling. Their thermal insulation properties provide additional comfort and convenience during outdoor activities such as running, hiking, or winter sports.
Another sought-after model is yoga leggings, made from extra stretchy material that allows various yoga poses without worrying about tearing a hole in the fabric.
High-waisted leggings are also popular, covering minor imperfections in the abdominal area. Women who have nothing to hide also enjoy wearing them. They nicely elongate the legs, which is always a plus, and they don't slip down even during a high-intensity interval training (HIIT).
Matte or shiny leggings have been a trendy style in recent years, and with the right thickness of the material and the rest of the outfit, you can confidently wear them even if you have a few extra pounds.
Be cautious with leather leggings. They can create a sexy look and certainly have their place in the wardrobe. However, faux leather or latex is unfortunately almost non-breathable, posing a risk of various difficulties, especially for sensitive skin.
Pregnancy leggings don't differ much in terms of material from others, but they have an elastic waistband that adapts to the growing belly.
And what about size and fit? It may seem like a no-brainer, but we can occasionally get it wrong in this matter too. Fabric flapping in the wind or, conversely, see-through underwear due to excessive stretching is not something we want to showcase. You'll recognize the right size of leggings by how well they fit, but when you sit down, you shouldn't find their waistband at your knees. :-) Adjustable elements like drawstrings or elastic bands that allow you to customize the waistband as needed can be practical.
In terms of wearing leggings, there's an unwritten rule. Except on the sports field, it's not suitable to wear leggings in combination with a short top. It's also not recommended to wear leggings in the workplace. However, if you opt for a longer top that corresponds to the overall outfit, enjoy the comfort, and have a pleasant workday. :-)
You can find all the leggings on Factcool. Don't hesitate and get yours. If they happen not to fit, you have up to 60 days to return them. And that's factually cool. :-)
